MLC has 11 Commissioners. They are appointed and funded by DEFRA to ensure a wide range of industry viewpoints and members are represented. Appointments last 3 years but can be extended in line with Nolan principals. Taking account of industry requirements and with substantial input from BPEX, the Strategy Councils and other MLC committees and councils, they decide on the overall direction and policies carried out by MLC staff.
